There are several issues with area hospitals participating with the various Essential Plans newly offered through the NYS Health Exchange.
Our practice currently utilizes St. Peter's Hospital in Albany and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. We also provide services at Albany Medical Center on a very limited basis.
The Essentials Plans offered through Fidelis, MVP Healthcare, and United Health Care participate with some but not all of these facilities. We encourage patients to contact their insurance company to clarify what facilities are in network with their specific plan.
If the facility is not within your plan, surgical costs may be out of pocket. We are unable to change the participation status of any given facility, nor can our providers provide services at other hospitals in the area.
We anticipate that, in time, all local facilities will participate with all Essential plans.
